Working on speech doesn’t have to be difficult, in fact it can be as easy as watching a movie or a TV show with your kid!
We made Pronoun Signs that your little one can lift to describe characters on the screen.
Here’s one of our little ones watching her favorite TV show while practicing pronouns.
All you have to do is:
- Print all three signs.
- Cut out both sides of each sign.
- Sign 1 is She/Her
- Sign 2 is He/Him
- Sign 3 is They/Them
- Make a handle using a popsicle stick, a folded pipe cleaner, or even piece of plastic.
- Glue or tape the two sides of each sign together with the handle in the middle.
- Keep the signs by the TV for easy access.
You can have your kids raise the pronoun of characters they see.
Tip: Ask them leading questions, like:
- “Who is wearing a blue shirt?”
- “Oh, it belongs to her? She is wearing the blue shirt! Good job!”
After they master knowing when to use the different signs, focus on your child showing the correct side when answering questions.
- “Who does the ball belong to? Does it belong to her or him?”
- “Where is Bobby going? Is he going to the store?”
My daughter’s journey with pronouns has been a wild ride, but it’s been a fun one.
Happy learning!
