All-In-One Transition Boards

For the convenience of therapists, educators, and families, we remade our transition board series so it is possible to reuse the actions/places/etc square’s for the child’s transition board.

You can start off with a “First and Then” Chart and change the chart to a “To Do List” and still be able to reuse the same squares. We even include some optional assets: rewards, choices, and title sections.

First and Then:

This is sometimes called “This and Then”. This is usually the first type of communication tool given to children working on transitioning.

As your child gains confidence in structured events, you can add new a new option.

Then, after being able to do tasks 1 at a time, I recommend increasing the challenge to a “To Do List”.

To Do List:

Child is given 3 tasks. As they complete them, it moves to the done column.

Choice board:

This optional board allows the child to pick the next event from several options. This is a great way to encourage transitions from one fun activity to the next. I personally recommend activities involving: toys, movement, music, or art.

We also include a title for the “All Done” section and a simple pick a reward section.

You can mix and match the different sections as you see fit, but ALL sections are able to use the same squares.

We also have included a free template for you to be able to make custom events and actions.

We are happy to support you in your child’s journey to thrive.
